Hair has always been of prime importance among women, it is the crowning glory of every woman. Hair is a part of the personality and an expression of one’s attitude. Though we attach so much importance to hair but when it comes to hair care we often ignore it until it is too late. Instead we often put our hair through tremendous torture without even realising the impact of the strong chemical treatments.
Hair should be treated carefully, it is not only advisable to avoid harsh chemical treatments but also important to incorporate small changes in your regular life to avoid torture to hair. There are times when we don’t even realise the amount of harm we cause to our hair. We share some common mistakes which can be avoided for a healthy mane.
1) Using tight elastic bands and tying hair in a tight pony tail is not good for hair, it causes breakage. Tie a loose pony tail and use a comfortable elastic band that holds the pony tail firmly yet gently. You should feel the pain after removing the elastic band.
2) Do not use a hair dryer to dry hair, let your hair dry naturally. Heated instruments can be used occasionally but regular use of such instruments is not good for your hair. It rips the hair of its natural oil and will eventually make your hair frizzy.
3) Frequent combing and brushing is also not good, it damages the hair cuticle and weakens the shaft. So keep your combing/ brushing minimal. Also use a brush instead of comb but be careful not to use 8- 10 strokes of brush everyday. You can use both brush and comb, it is advisable to invest in a good quality brush. Keep these simple tips in mind next time you touch your hair.
