Skin care has always been of prime importance among women. From time immemorial, women have cared for their skin and used home remedies to protect their skin and improve its texture.
Though, science does not agree with the effectiveness of home remedy, the results are often visible. Moreover, think about those days when technology was not advanced and things like micro-dermabrasion, glycolic peels etc did not exist. In those days too people had good skin, rather glowing skin and it was a result of home care.
The age old recipes were often passed on from generations to generations. And people would follow it very religiously, however, the essence of this kind of skin care has faded over the years. People do not give importance to home remedies and one reason for this is the cumbersome activity. No one likes messy skin care regimes, with the fast paced lifestyle there is no time to clear the mess.
People are always on the move and prefer to use creams and lotions that can be applied even after leaving the house. Though, most of the skin care regimes are quite time consuming, we have chosen few that are not at all cumbersome. You can get going within 2 to 3 minutes and do not require drying time.

1) Milk and milk products - Whenever you wash your face, follow it up with a splash of milk or buttermilk. Milk has lactic acid, which is excellent for the skin. It keeps the skin emollient and prevents it from getting dry. Moreover, it also removes tanning and improves the texture of the skin, the skin tone too gets lightened over a period of time after regular use.
2) Fruit peel - The next time you eat a fruit, feed your skin too. Simply rub the skin of the fruit and rinse with plain water. Fruits are known to have excellent properties and will improve the quality and texture of your skin. One of the best fruits in skin care is papaya.
3) Toothpaste - Cure your boils, pimples and zits with toothpaste. Though this is not an age old remedy, but it is a quick fix for curing pimple. The menthol present in toothpaste will heal the pimple with its cooling effect.
