Of all the problems related to hair, hair fall and dandruff are the two most common problems which affect everyone in their lives at some point of time. Earlier hair loss was common amongst aged people but these days even teenagers and sometimes children face hair loss, thanks to the erratic lifestyle of the parents and the children. Lifestyle changes is one of the most important cause of hair problems, it is disturbing to know that dandruff can also be caused by stress. The dry powdery type of dandruff is caused due to stress and has no cure, the only solution to it is to destress yourself, which again is a challenge in itself specially for the working class.

Hormonal changes are also responsible for hair problems. Whatever be the cause of hair loss and dandruff, we have some simple do it yourself tips to cure all your hair woes.

Hair fall - To curb hair fall, have 2 to 5 grams of Triphala mixed with 125 mg of iron dust in the morning. While cooking, it is good to use an iron pan (kadhai) since it adds extra iron to your food which helps maintain healthy hair. Also consume tamarind and curry leaves in your food more often. Avoid refined flour, instead use wholegrain flour. Try to include curd (in the form of yoghurt, lassi or buttermilk) and Amla in your diet. Beat and egg and mix with milk, apply this mixture on your scalp and leave it for 15 minutes, shampoo as usual. Egg protein is excellent for your hair it gives strength and shine to weak and dull hair.

Dandruff - Apply curd mixed with lemon juice to your scalp once in a week, this will cure dandruff and is an excellent conditioner for your hair. You can also add black pepper powder to fight grey hair condition. Apply henna mixed with fresh amla pulp, egg and curd on your scalp. To prepare the mixture, use tea water or coffee water. These remedies require consistency and patience, so don’t expect immediate results.
