Head Lice Remedy
Head lice is one the common problems related to hair that is faced by many people. Head lice can occur due to physical and direct contact with any infected person. It can also occur due to usage of others’ personal things, such as combs, brushes, bed linen, towels etc.
Lack of hygiene in the scalp also causes head lice. The presence of lice in the head causes lot of itching in the scalp. Prevention of head lice is easy, but treating it is a very difficult task. Let us here discuss some of the remedies for head lice.
Personal things of anyone such as combs, clips, hair brushes, hair bands, scarves, hats, and towels should not be used.
Head to head contact with anyone should be avoided.
It is very important to wash all clothes after coming back from the hair dresser.
The hair of the child behind the ears and above ears should be checked regularly. If, in case, one finds any nits, head lice treatments should be started immediately. Also, pillows, towels, scarves, brushes, hats, combs and bedding linen should be cleaned with dettol or tea tree oil added in hot water immediately.
In case the child is getting infected of lice in the school make sure to get your child’s hair trimmed very short. It is very difficult for the lice to stay in short length hair.
Application of coconut milk on the hair after shampooing and conditioning them is a very good treatment for dealing with head lice.
Rubbing Vaseline on scalp thoroughly also helps in getting rid of head lice. However, washing away the Vaseline from the hair may be difficult task. Around six washes may be required to wash away the Vaseline. Rubbing corn flour on hair before shampooing the hair may facilitate to get away with Vaseline.
Prepare a mix of shampoo, three spoons olive oil, one spoon eucalyptus oil and one spoon tea tree oil. Apply the mix on the hair thoroughly and let it stay on the hair for around ½ hour by covering it with a shower cap. Thereafter, rinse the hair well. This is also a good remedy to deal with head lice.
