Handle Your Hair

Hair needs to be handled with care, like our skin hair too needs some TLC. Some hair problems are external and beyond our control while others are caused by rough handling. External factors that cause hair problems are pollution, dust, grime, sunlight, chemical treatments, heated instruments, hair products, gels, sprays etc. Though these external factors cannot be avoided completely but can be controlled to some extend with a little care and concern for hair. Apart from these factors there are many more ways in which we torture our hair. Let us look at some of our day to day activities can inflict torture on our tresses.

We admire some of the celebrity hairstyle and try to ape them. In this quest to look like our favourite celebrity we bathe our hair is chemical and hair products. To avoid this, make sure you get a style you like as well as one that suits your hair type and lifestyle. A bob may seem pretty and sophisticated but it takes a lot of maintenance to keep it looking that way especially if your hair is curly or wavy or susceptible to frizz.

Similarly just chopping off your hair may seem to be a good idea but a pixie cut is most definitely not for everyone. So do yourself a favour and think it through before you go in for a drastic hairstyle. Another area that needs concern is the use of head bands, elastic bands, clip and velcro itsy-bitsy. Though hair accessories can instantly pep up your looks but removing hair accessory carefully is very important for it can pull your hair and cause breakage.

Do not settle for cheap hair accessories, you will loose a lot of hair. Elastic bands especially are the culprit for hair breakage, ensure that the band is not too tight. It should just hold the pony tails loosely, never tie your hair too tight, it is the ultimate torture for your hair.
