Hand And Nail Care
Hands are an often ignored part of our body, we don’t care for them unless they feel very dry. In fact the common problems with hands and nails is dryness. The skin can become dehydrated and the nails can become brittle or ridged. It is essential to take care of hands and nails like the way we care for our face. The best way to treat them is by using aromatherapy oils. These oils are absolutely natural and have several beneficial properties. Aroma oils are extracted from plants, trees, shrubs, leaves , flowers etc.
They are the essential oils of various plants and herbs. Though this alternate treatment did not gain much importance a decade ago, but has now become very popular. So why not use it for our benefit.
Here, we share some aromatherapy preparations for hands and nails:
Cream – A day cream is very essential for protecting your hands from sun, environmental pollution and so on. It also nourishes the dry skin, thereby keeping your hand soft and touchable. Apply this day cream as often as you feel. To make this emollient cream at home, use Jojoba oil, Almond oil, Beeswax, and water. Take 2 teaspoon of beeswax and and 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil and 3 teaspoon of almond oil.
Heat beeswax on low flame until the wax melts completely. Now allow it to cool and then add aromatherapy oils. Add some hot water and whisk. Your soothing day cream is ready. You can store it in a jar in a cool place and use it as often as you wish. This cream will nourish your nails as well.
Hand soak – It is good to soak your hands in warm water mixed with aroma oils. This wil not only allow the oils to penetrate deeper in the skin but will also remove dirt and grime which may settle inside the nails. Once in a week, soak your hands in warm water to which 3 drops of lemon oil, almond oil and orange oil is added. Your hands will feel refreshed.
