Hairstyle for Curly Hair
Curly and wavy hair requires special attention and care. It needs to be treated differently for the texture of this kind of hair is a little rough and dry. Dryness is usually caused due to the natural curls in the hair. The hair oil does not reach the hair shaft due to the waves.
As a result the hair usually becomes limp at the roots and looks greasy around that area but the hair shaft is dry and rough. Styling this kind of hair can be difficult and often a challenge. The first thing you would need is a good haircut, a cut that compliments the hair and is not high on maintenance. Since, heated instruments can cause further damage. Curls look good only when they are soft and bouncy, the texture plays a very important role. So deep conditioning treatments are the best way to keep them in good shape. We suggest some ways to cut and maintain curly hair.
1) Thinning scissors - Ask your hairstylist to use thinning scissors to cut down the volume. However, you need to ensure that your stylist is experienced in handling this kind of hair that is difficult to manage. A good cut will make a lot of difference, it will make your hair look more smooth and manageable.
2) Length - This is another important aspect, the length of your hair should be just perfect. Too short hair will look like a nest on your head and very long hair will be difficult to manage. Medium to short hair length is good for curly or wavy hair.
3) Hair colour - Do not go for highlighting, since it makes your hair appear thicker. Curly hair has loads of volume and if you highlight it, the hair will look full bodied. Instead, go for global colouring and use a dark shade, blonde is not meant for this kind of hair. After colouring your hair, use products that are meant especially for curly hair. Curl enhancing shampoo and conditioner is the best bet. Follow it up with a serum.
