There are many concepts about hair loss and equal number of myths surrounding the same. It helps to know what is good for your hair,we intend to bust some common myths about hair loss.
Myth – Trimming hair makes it grow faster.
Truth – The hair will grow at a normal rate whether you trim it or no. This is only true incase of split ends, if you suffer from splits then it is advisable to trim your hair regularly.
Myth – Hairstyles can cause hairloss
Truth – This is true, some hairstyles like tight pony tails, plaits, braids etc can cause the hair to pull and get uprooted. The key is to be gentle when stying your hair.
Myth – Washing hair everyday will cause hair loss
Truth – A mild shampoo used everyday will not cause hair loss. Infact it is good to keep the scalp clean, additionaly you can use clarifying shampoo once in a week to get rid of accumulated dirt.
Myth – Brushing hair 100 times before going to bed.
Truth – Though brushing hair stimulates blood circulation in the scalp but excessive brushing can damage the hair and cause hair fall.
Myth – Shampoo and conditioners nourish the hair.
Truth – This is absolute rubbish, no shampoo or conditioner can ever nourish the hair, even if the product boasts about the protein content or any other such content. Whatever effect such products have is temporary so don’t get lured by tall claims.
Myth – Lack of zinc causes hair loss.
Truth – There is no evidence about this concept. So whether the levels of zinc are low or high it doesn’t affect your hair.
Myth - Stress causes hair loss
Truth – Stress is known to alter the production of certain chemicals in our body which cause hair loss
