Hair Problems During Summer

Summer brings with it the time to grow hair faster, indeed the rate of hair growth during summer is high but what with the several hair problems during this season. Heat is known to escape from our head so during summer it is best to keep the hair short, less hair would also keep the scalp cool. Less is more – this adage is apt during summer, short hair is not only easy on maintenance but will also keep your head cool.

It is very easy to wash short hair as compared to long hair, plus it dries quickly and can be washed frequently. To save your tresses from the hot sun try some head accessories like bandana, broad head bands, caps, hats and so on. Also buy hair care products with inbuilt sunscreen or UV filters, there are products available for hair as well. An SPF of 8 to 10 is ideal for hair, the sun rays can actually burn your hair so save your locks from the heat.

During summer it is also important to keep the body hydrated so drink lots of water. At least 8 to 10 glasses of water is required to keep yourself cool. The common hair problem during summer is sweaty and greasy hair that looks limp and dull. It is essential to keep the hair clean, so wash your hair frequently but use shampoo that is meant for daily use.

Mild pH balanced shampoo is ideal for this season, it makes a lot of difference to the quality of hair. Another problem that grips our hair during summer is dandruff, they can occur due to the combination of sebum and sweat or if the scalp becomes dry due to washing. Try some home remedies that have cooling effect, apply curd on your scalp andd hair. Henna application is very good for summers, it cools the scalp skin and conditions the hair.
