Hair loss after illness is common and usually stops after the medication is over, hair re-grows naturally but it takes approximately 3 to 4 months. Moreover the quality of the new hair can also be different from the original. Though it may not be possible to completely eliminate medication but alternate medicine can be tried to control the condition.

According to Ayurveda there are 3 dosha’s in our body i.e. Kapha, Pitta and Vitta which should be in complete balance with each other. One of the best remedy in Ayurveda for hair is the use of Brahmi oil, this oil keeps the scalp cool and improves blood circulation. Some other other effective ayurvedic oils are Mahabhringraj, Bhringaasava, Amla and Sesame, massage oilstimulates hair follicles and promotes blood circulation. Ayurveda also recommends a healthy and nutritious diet.
Try to include Vitamin C, iron, zinc, Vitamin B (the entire family of B Complex) and Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Do not take supplements for these vitamins, intake green leafy vegetables, sprouts, salads, milk and milk products, fruits, soybean etc.
Some other ayurvedic treatments can be adopted like massaging hair with cocunut oil to which camphor has been added. Make a paste with henna powder, curd, fenugreek seeds powder, coffee, mint juice and basil juice. Apply this paste to the hair and leave it for two hours. This is an excellent remedy to contain hair fall. Consume ginger juice everyday mixed with honey, this is good for the overall health and hair.
