Hair loss is caused to due various reasons, it affects all age groups and is more severe amongst the elderly. There are many theories attached to hair loss, we bust some of the myths related to hair fall. These are very trivial things and a little bit of awareness will help contain hair loss.
1) Too much of washing causes hair loss -
This is the number 1 myth widely circulating amongst women. Washing hair frequently can never cause hair loss unless you use some harsh shampoo. Infact it is good to keep the scalp and hair clean to avoid clogging of dirt and grime and formation of dandruff, a squeaky clean scalp is a must for healthy hair. However, use a pH balanced shampoo and conditioner it will retain the natural oil balance of your scalp.
2) Combing wet hair causes hair loss –
It is good to comb wet hair since it is easier to detangle. Moreover, if wet hair is not combed it expands and causes knots and snarls which are a task to comb through once the hair dries.
3) Brushing hair is better than combing -
Brushing may give a good texture to your hair and a right brush can actually put the toughest of hair straight but brushing causes tension in the scalp for a simple reason that it has too many bristles. On the other hand combing is softer on hair.
4) Shampoo should be changed -
If a particular shampoo suits your hair then there is no need to change it. You can continue using the same shampoo as long as it is available in the market. There is no need to change unless you have some severe scalp condition like dandruff which calls for special shampoo meant for dandruff. Bear these simple tips in mind for a healthy mane.
