Hair Loss Myths Busted
There are many myths related to hair loss, some of them are believed so strongly that they are no more a myth they become a belief. Hair loss is a problem that grips almost every next person, it is a common cause of concern amongst women. Though these wives tales are sometimes true but there is no scientific proof of the baseless myths. We shed some light on the myths surrounding hair loss.
1) Myth – If your father has a head of full hair you too wont face hair fall.
Truth – Hair loss is hereditary and most of the time inherited from the mothers side. So even if your father has a head of full hair, you are not safe.
2) Myth – Brush your hair 100 times before going to bed.
Truth – Never ever commit this mistake, it will over activate your scalp and the brushing will damage the delicate cuticles of your hair. You will infact suffer from severe hair loss due to breakage. Brushing creates tension in the hair since there are too many bristles in a brush and to add to that if you brush 100 times you can only imagine the damage you will cause to your hair.
3) Myth – Blow drying causes hair loss
Truth – There is no proven evidence of blow drying and hair loss. Though excessive heat can make the hair dry and brittle but if you care for your hair hold the dryer at least 6 to 8 inches away from your hair. If the dryer is used properly it will not cause hair loss. Keep the temperature low or even better, use the dryer on cool setting. This will not cause brittleness and thus prevent hair breakage. Moreover, too much of anything is not good, so keep the usage limited to occasions.
