Hair Loss in Curly Hair
Hair loss is more common in curly hair than straight hair and one reason for this is the dryness. Curly or wavy hair is drier than normal straight hair. Dryness not only causes breakage, it also causes tangling of hair. Tangled hair, if not treated gently will easily break and fall, sometimes from the roots. Styling curly hair can be a challenge, so keep the style simple and don’t experiment too much with your tresses.
A headband or bug pins will suit this hair type, your style should not be too complicated for it can create severe tangles and snarls. And removing them will be a task. Curly hair also tends to be frizzy, so the key is to tame the frizz with some smoothening techniques.
There are some tips that can be handy for preventing hair loss and breakage:
1) Apply some castor oil on your palm and rub it on the tresses. This will keep the hair in place and also nourish the dried tresses. Do not apply it on the hair shaft, only apply on the ends, else your hair will look oily and limp.
2) Use silicon based products for frizzy hair. A hair serum can be a boon for curly hair.
3) Apply some curd on your hair once in a week, it is an excellent conditioner. It will also keep a check on dandruff.
4) Another home remedy is to use honey, after shampooing, apply honey mixed with water. Use this as a final rinse, take 1 tablespoon of honey and mix with 1 jug of water.
5) Style curly hair with care, dont punish them with a high maintenance hair cut. Let them be natural, free flowing curls are sexy. But they shouldn’t be dry and rough, it is a complete turn off. Keep these simple tips in mind and say goodbye to bad hair days.
