Hair Loss due to Dandruff
There are various reasons for hair loss and Dandruff is one of them. Dandruff can exist in the form of fine, dry powder or flakes or coarse and waxy scales that stick to the hair and scalp. The coarse and waxy type of dandruff causes more itching but one should avoid scratching as it may lead to bleeding and infection. Once infected with dandruff it is very difficult to get rid of it, however, as a precaution you can keep the hair and scalp clean, ash your hair frequently. A mild PH balanced shampoo which does not strip the hair of its protective acid mantle is ideal fo this condition. Keep the hairstyle simple so that it doesn’t fall on the forehead or face.
One more reason for dandruff and subsequent hair fall is stress, dry dandruf is usually stress related. Simple changes in your lifetsyle can releive stress to a great extent,for example; do not skip your breakfast, eat your meals on time,have plenty of water, exercise in fresh air, take a short walk, take your eyes off the computer every 1 hour, look at distant objects in office to destress your eyes,use a comfortable chair, sit in a proper posture so that you don’t strain your neck and back. If all of this seems difficult, you can adopt a shorter route to destress, just massage your scalp in the night, massage releives the tightness caused by stress,it also helps in improving blood circulation which is turn releases stress. An ideal massage is with aromatherapy oils, it will not only reduce the tension but also cure dandruff. some formulations are listed below;
Dry flaking scalp -
5 drops of Lavender Oil
5 drops of Geranium oil
2 drops of Sandalwood oil
5-6 teaspoons of Jojoba oil
Oil scaling scalp -
