Hair Loss And Ageing

There are many reasons for hair fall among men and women and containing it can be a bit difficult. Here we talk about one of the most common cause of hair loss which affects every individual at some point of time in their lives. Ageing – the inevitable part of our life is one of the major cause of hair loss. There is no specific age for the onset of ageing, different people experience it at different times. For some people ageing begins when they enter adulthood, while others experience it very late in their lives. The process of ageing also varies according to individuals, some people age faster while the rate of ageing is slow with others.

Ageing is a unique process and the changes that occur due to it vary from person to person. Similarly hair loss also may not have a standard pattern, though the symptoms may be the same but the age at which the signs of hair fall are noticed may be different for different people.

Let’s look at what happens to your hair when you start ageing. The most drastic change that occurs is the rate at which the hair follicles work. With age, the hair follicles start shrinking as a result new hair growth is hampered. During the youthful years the follicles work in full capacity and replenish themselves thus giving you a full head of hair.

Our body is also in a position to produce the required quantity of proteins, vitamins and minerals. But with age, the production of nutrients is reduced which infact needs to be accelerated to compensate for the slow down of hair follicle functioning. Another problem with ageing is the loss of pigmentation from hair, one tends to loose colour pigments which not only makes your hair grey but also makes each strand thinner.
