Hair Highlighting Tips
Highlighting hair has become very common these days, with every next person wanting to highlight their mane. Though coloured hair looks good, but it comes with its own set of drawbacks. Some of the common problems associated with hair colouring are hair fall, breakage, frizzy hair, dry ends, change in texture and so on. These are some of the after effects of highlighting. No matter how good the product is, any chemical treatment can damage your hair. Hair problems related to colouring cannot be avoided completely, but the effects can be reduced to some extent.
Here we share some tips to reduce damage while highlighting:
Choose the right colour - This may sound a bit weird, since you might wonder what is the relation between the right colour shade and hair problems. Let me explain you in detail. When the original colour of your hair is dark and you go for lighter highlights then your hair has to go through strong chemical exposure. This means that colouring is done at the cost of your hair texture.
The ideal colour for your hair would be just two shades darker or lighter than your original colour. For instance, if you have black coloured hair, it is not a good idea to colour them blonde. Similarly if you have lighter coloured hair, say golden brown or even lighter, then a dark colour like jet black or darkest brown is not a good idea.
Post colour hair care - This is very crucial part of highlighting. You have to take good care of your hair after it is coloured. You got to use the right shampoo, conditioner and other hair products like styling gel, mousse etc that is meant for coloured hair. Not just that, it is also advisable to indulge in home remedies like application of oil, head massage etc. This will nourish your mane, also take care of your diet and eat protein rich food. After care is very important else you might face hair fall in chunks.
