Hair Fall in Men
It is common to loose 50 to 100 strands of hair everyday because this is a part of the hair renewal process. If the hair fall is continuous and losing 50 to 100 strands causes thinning of hair then it is a cause for concern. The most common cause of hair loss is men is due to androgenic alopecia, also known as “Male Pattern Baldness” or “Common Baldness”.
It is caused mainly due to hormonal havoc, a male hormone which is present in the blood stream is the known culprit. The hormone DHT – Dihydrotestosterone is responsible for hair loss in men. This hormone can also cause hair loss in woman who go through menopause.
The hormone causes the hair follicle to shrink and over a period these hair follicles shrink to such an extent that there is no hair growth. This condition usually affects the age group of 20 to 30, it starts with a receding hairline and then bald patches on the top of the head. It is said that hair fall and greying are genetically determined from the mothers side of the family.
It is sad to know that there is no preventive cure for male pattern baldness, the hair loss cannot be prevented. Though it can be cured with surgery, hair transplant, flap surgery and scalp reduction are some of the hair restoration techniques. It is important to understand these procedures before you go for a surgery because hair loss can occur even after the surgery.
Though these methods are used widely but they are not yet 100% successful. Hair restoration surgery can be successful if the method or the procedure used for hair transplant is correct and appropriate. It is thus important to visit a reputed clinic for these hair loss treatments. Hair transplant is the procedure of surgically removing hair from a part of the scalp and reallocating to the bald patch.
