Hair Extensions

From celebs and socialites to prom queens and chic teens, everyone is sporting hair extensions. They look absolutely fabulous and offer a variety of styling options. Hair extension are a solution to all hair woes, they add length, volume and texture they your original hair and make styling a cake walk. All these years you would have experimented with your tresses, you chop them, colour them, perm them and put them through hot irons but hair extension is your solution. Synthetic fibres or real human hair, you can choose your hair extension. They are either sewn or braided into the existing hair to increase length, volume or colour and improve the texture. They also camouflage scanty hair and offer countless styles.

There are two types of hair extensions synthetic and real hair. The former one consists of strands of artificial fibres of fine threads. Some of the fibres used are modacrylic and polyester. However, synthetic hair extensions are not colour friendly and should not be curled, blow dried or permed, as they could become coarse.

Real hair extensions on the other hand can be styled in every possible way since they are made of 100% human hair. The hair extension behaves normally and can be cut, coloured, permed and styled with hair products. The hair is generally imported from various parts of the world and is processed, washed and cleaned before it is distributed to the suppliers of hair extensions.

Real hair extensions are costlier than synthetic ones. There are various methods of attaching the hair extension to your original hair. The extensions can be clipped, glued, clamped or bonded with heat fused techniques. Hair extensions can feel a bit heavy, initially they give a headache but over a period of time one can get used to it. Never try to remove the extensions by yourself, consult your hair stylist, it is dangerous to experiment with such things since it can cause permanent damage to your hair.
