Hair Dressing Tips
June 23, 2008
Many fashion magazines suggest hair styles according to the shape of the face in order to make the face resemble as closely as possible the perfect oval. The circularity of a round face may be minimized by a sleek, con trolled style with side bangs. A square face needs a style that cuts across the square corners at the temples and is full around the jaw. The best style for a long face also rounds off the corners at the temples and is short. For a triangu lar face, a narrow chin should be filled out with chin-length hair, while a wide chin may be minimized with wide bangs. In finding the right hairstyle, however, a woman should also consider the proportions of her whole figure, the texture of her hair, her skill in handling it, and the character of her life.
Tips for Hair Dressing
Wondering what should be the minimum tip that one should give to hairdressers in the country? Read on and you’ll get the answer. Hairdressing tips…They must be paid of course. Not too much, nor too less. Ideally, if the hairdresser gives good service, the appropriate hairdresser tip should be at least 10 percent of the total cost. This is because the work done to warrant that price is manual, and not mechanic. Although, equipments like blow-dryers and irons may be used, they have to be used by hand and do not work on their own. If however, the service is less than satisfactory, the appropriate hairdresser tip may be 6 to 7 percent.
Choose your method
All the different methods and technologies of hair extension out there can confuse not only the clients but the stylist as well! There are differences in the way hair extensions are prepared, in the technique used to attach it to existing hair, and in what kind of hair is used. European hairdressers patented some principles of hair extension each named in accordance with their historical homeland. And each technique has its own nuances, but the general principle remains unchanged. The basic difference lies in the way of attaching false locks to natural ones — thus, hair extension can be ‘hot’ or ‘cold’.
Get the right Equipment
Hair dryers - A cheap Hairdryer seems like a good option, but spend wisely. Buy one with as many features as possible, attachments and multiple heat settings are good. You want to ensure your clients are comfortable, and blasting them on full power because you cant turn it down will not get you repeat business.
Straighteners - GHD Straighteners have gained a good reputation for home use, as have Remington straighteners, again go with the best you can afford, read the reviews online and avoid the cheap options. Your clients are your bread and butter, and they need to feel safe in your hands, seeing good quality equipment will give them piece of mind, and will ensure happy clients.
Pick the right shade of blonde
Some women look good in any color but most women don’t. Some rules of thumb for going blonde, according to Allure’s Confessions of a Beauty Editor, which is my favorite beauty book of the moment: Sallow skin with yellow undertones? Deep golds aren’t for you. Pink skin? Avoid strawberry shades. Doing it yourself? It’s best to go no more than a couple shades lighter than your current shade.
Coloring newbie? Start with a semipermanent color. Semipermanent colors wash out after a few washes, whereas permanent colors have to grow out. If you are new to coloring your hair, you might start with a semipermanent hue UNLESS you want to cover gray hair or go two or more shades lighter or darker.
Hair partings
This is a common problem. Many women complain that over time, a parting is formed in their hair, and won’t disappear, no matter which way they style their hair. To remedy it, lift up your damp hair in a vent brush. Blow dry it, and then flip it back, making sure that there is no parting formed. If repeated consistently, the parting should go away. You could also try changing the parting. For example, if you find you have a middle parting, change it to a side one. Do not stick with one for too long, since they can broaden and encourage hair fall.
