Hair Do’s And Don’ts
To keep your mane looking healthy and glowing follow these simple do’s and don’ts. We have made it easy for you to glance through these natural remedies for lustrous, thick and shinning hair.
Do’s -
Brush your hair gently everyday, brushing is better than combing. Our hair needs about 8 to 10 strokes a day, brushing helps distribution of natural hair oils. Brush strokes should always move outwards from the scalp.
Shampoo your hair. Women in India have some fears about shampooing hair. Shampoo is merely a cleansing agent and weather you use it in the form of soap or liquid makes no difference, as long as it is suited to your hair type.
Moreover, shampoo has no effect on hair fall and neither does it cause an increase in the production of sebum. The hair that falls out during shampooing is due to fall out and people with oily hair should shampoo more frequently.
Make sure you have a balanced diet, rich in proteins. Hair also requires minerals like iron, zinc and copper in the right proportions, any deficiency of these will affect the condition of your hair. If you suspect too much of hair loss then it is advisable to consult a doctor.
Don’ts -
Though brushing is good for the hair and scalp but excessive brushing can tear the hair, pull it out and damage the cuticles layer causing split ends. The condition is worse in people with dry or colour treated hair. Over brushing does no good to oily hair either. It merely stimulates sebaceous glands and thus increases the level of sebum in the hair.
Do not wash your hair too frequently, thrice a week is good enough unless you find it distinctively dirty or greasy. If you are a sports person or travel a lot then you may have to wash it frequently to keep the hair and scalp clean. But ensure that you use a shampoo meant for daily use.
