Hair Crimping
Hair crimping made its comeback this summer and the look has stayed on till autumn/winter. To get the look without crimper, try this trick with irons – take small sections of hair and start plaiting about 2 to 3 centimeters away from the roots.
The size of the plait will determine the tightness of the crimped effect. Go over each plaited section with the irons, once your hair is cool, undo the plaits and explore with the kinky texture.
1) Crimped tie back – Divide the hair into two sections, working from ear to ear. The front section remains smooth, while the back is plaited in small to medium sections and set with straighteners. Brush through when cool. Smooth back the front section, pulling it into a pony tail or twist and mist some spray.
2) Under crimping - Mixed crimped hair with smooth to create volume in the layers underneath. Plait alternative sections in layers through the crown and temples before going over with irons. Concentrate on the layers underneath and keep the top smooth, when cool brush and mist some spray.
3) Mixed updo – For a class updo with a twist, use the crimping trick on one side section of hair to create a kinky texture. Then, brush all the hair back and gather it into a looped pony tail. Leave as is or pull loop into a bun shape and pin, mist some hair spray for long stay.
To avoid the damage to hair, avoid using iron instead plait when your hair when it is wet and undo it when dry. The crimped hair is ideal for everyday wear, with the 70′s fashion making a comeback get trendy this season. There are crimping instruments available which can crimp the hair instantly, these days flat irons come with an attachment to crimp hair.
