The benefits of coconut oil are plenty.

Traditionally, women used used to add other herbs and prepare oil at home. no one ever purchased oil from outside. It was always prepared at home. Some of the most effective flowers and herbs were added to the regular coconut oil. This oil would take few days or months to get ready for application, hence it was made in bulk quantities.

One of the most common flower, which is known for its hair care properties was hibiscus. This flower was boiled in coconut oil and left for 15 days, the oil was then strained and used for application. Some people also added methi seeds to this oil for strong hair. Even camphor balls were added to treat dandruff. Such was the South Indian way of hair care.
