All of us look forward to winter as respite after the hot sultry weather. It is the beginning of the the wedding and part season, however, with the onset of cooler temperatures and the diminishing hours of sunlight comes a new set of hair care demands.
Winter tends to wreck havoc on our tresses. leaving them dry and brittle and difficult to manage. We provide some easy hair care tips to keep your locks healthy all through.
1) Shampoo - Go easy on shampoo during this season for frequent shampooing will dry out your hair. Also the amount of shampoo you use is important, use a little less shampoo during winters, the best way is to dilute it in water and then apply on scalp. Always follow up with a conditioner else the hair cuticles will remain open and cause further damage to dry ends.
2) Serum - Use hair serums and leave-in conditioners very generously during winters. They create a protective barrier between your hair and the harsh elements of winter.
3) Static - During winters you can get static cling, use of woolly hats and scarves causes a build up of static electricity between strands. This is a major culprit when it comes to unruly, fly away hair. Rub hair lightly to remove static. Another alternative is to use a natural bore- bristle brush with a wooden handle. You can also go in for a light styling spray to keep your hair do in place.
4) De-tangling - De-tangle hair gently during winter, for dong this towel dry your hair gently . Spray on some leave-in conditioner and comb through with a wide toothed comb. When you encounter a knot don’t force the comb through it, be gentle since it can damage the strands as well as the roots. Also remember never to brush your hair when it is wet.
