Hair Care For Children

Childhood is the best time to incorporate some good hair habits in your kids. Whatever they learn during childhood will stay with them throughout their lives. The importance of hair care should be explained to them at this age for it will become a habit. It is upto the parents to teach their children healthy hair habits and also set an example for them. Kids often follow their parents behaviour, so it is important that you too take good care of your hair. Teach them hair care by setting an example, become a role model for your child, so that he/she follows your good traits.

Once you have successfully implemented good hair care regime, encourage your child to start taking interest in their own hair maintenance routine. Teach them about the natural ways of gently dealing with their hair. Don’t say a direct no for any harmful hair products and tools, instead explain them the harmful effects of these products and styling tools.

When say no for somthing, it is important to justify your behaviour else your child will start rebelling. For instance, if you ask your child not to use hair dryer, then firstly set an example by not using a dryer yourself and secondly explain the dangerous effects of the same. Explain them about the heating effect on the hair, be firm while talking to them but don’t sound too strict.

Try to get them to develop healthy eating habits, remember the health of your hair depends on the nutrition supplied to your body. Also teach them about hair hygiene, cleanliness is very important in hair care.

Show them how to comb and brush their hair, if you influence your children in the right manner chances are they may never face hair problems like hair fall, dandruff etc. If you have a girl child then promote the use of good quality hair accessory that doesn’t pull the hair and cause breakage.
