Hair Care During School Days
School days are the most disciplined years of our life, no wonder our hair was at its best when we were in school. Many of us can recall the thick pony tails and plaits we had during our school days and now half of the hair has gone. Well, school days were no magic days, the only difference was about following a routine. Schools usually demand a strict hairstyle with ribbons and headbands. Though we may not quite like the hairstyle but were forced to wear the same hairstyle everyday.
Hairstyle during school days can be very boring. Nevertheless, it ensured a healthy mane. But there are some common mistakes which mothers commit while tying their daughters hair.
These mistakes may sound trivial but the magnitude of its effect is unimaginable. It is these mistakes that lead to thinning of hair and other related complaints during the teenage and adolescent years.
We share some of the common mistakes that should be avoided.
1) Tying tight plaits - Mothers usually tie a very tight plait which pulls the hair off its scalp. This pulling may not lead to immediate hair fall but over the years new hair growth will be hampered in that area and the existing hair will eventually fall off.
2) Using the same parting - This is another all pervasive mistake. Always parting the hair on one side is bad for hair, partings should be changed regularly. Parting the hair in one fashion or on one side can lead to scarring alopecia. Slowly the parting will become thicker and develop into a bald patch. So change your parting every week.
3) Oiling the hair throughout the week - This is a grave mistake, oiling is good but not washing off the oil is bad. Dust and grime stick easily on oiled hair and scalp thus making the hair dirty and smelly. Hair should be oiled once or twice in a week and should be washed after 4 -5 hours of oiling. It is essential to keep the scalp and hair clean to keep all hair problems at bay.
