Hair Care After Typhoid
Typhoid is a bacterial infection caused due to contaminated food or water. The typhoid bacteria damages the alimentary system of the body thus causing acute anemia. The patient usually loses appetite and weight and ultimately suffers from hair loss. Though there are no preventive measures for hair fall during typhoid but care can be taken after illness to regain the lost hair.
Hair will grow back but the rate of hair growth will depend on the diet, additionally a relapse of typhoid can further aggravate the situation so extreme care should be taken if one suffers from this disease. Typhoid is a very severe disease and it can take approximately 3 to 6 months for a person to completely recuperate from it. Hair care can be in the form of home remedies and a healthy diet. It is advisable to consult your doctor for an appropriate diet.
Listed below are some of the home remedies which be of some help:
1) Massage your hair atleast twice in a week with Mahabhringraj, Amla and Arnica oil.
2) To induce hair growth drink juice of spinach and lettuce.
3) Soak two tablespoon of fenugreek seeds (methi) overnight in water. Grind the softened seeds into a fine paste and apply on the scalp, then wash the hair with shikakai.
4) Rub your nails rigorously, this is a known acupressure treatment to control hair fall. Fold your palms inwards and place the fingernails of both hands against each other. Rub them against each other with swift rigorous motion. This rubbing procedure increases the blood flow to the scalp and helps in strengthening the roots. It is simple and can be done anywhere anytime, do this for at least 5 minutes twice a day. The results may not be immediate, but you can notice visible changes in one month.
