Hair Brush

The secret to a great mane lies in your hair brush, though it may sound trivial but is actually difficult to pick a right brush. Just the way you would choose a right cut for your dress to suit your figure or the way you choose your sunglasses to suit your face type, so also a right brush is required for best results. The right kind of brush would be one that suits the hair texture and shape.

The market is filled with a huge variety of hair brushes of all sizes, shapes, bristles and prices, you name it and you get it. Lets look at the different types of brushes and the type of hair they suit.

Round hairbrush – This is ideal for those with curly hair as it gives a lovely bounce and shine. Do remember that if you want loose curls then go for a round brush with a large pad because a smaller barrelled brush will give you tighter curls. If you have long hair then go for a large round brush that will tame your hair and will give a stylish flick at the end. Usually professional hairstylist use such brushes during blow drying.

Half round hairbrush – This brush has large bristles and should be used very gently on wet or damp hair since this brush can pull hair and you might loose more strands than a wide toothed comb with this brush.

Paddle brush - This is the most common and the most popular brush amongst professionals and in salons. It can be used on any length and it forces hair to lie flat but may not really work well with curly hair.

Vent hair brush - This type of brush has a hole in the middle which lets air pass through the brush, this is best known for boosting volume and de-tangling hair.
