Hair care has been there since centuries, the old remedies of hair care which were passed on to us by our grandmother and mother are still effective and practised by most people. Though the young generation finds these home remedies outdated and time consuming but its effectiveness can convince your tough teenager. Teach them hair care by setting an example, take care of your hair and share the rewards with your teenaged daughter. We share some old grandma remedies for good quality and healthy hair. Firstly get your basic right, do not over shampoo your hair since it will rip the hair of its natural oils.
Do not apply shampoo directly on the scalp, mix it with water and then massage it in to the scalp.Always use a conditioner after shampooing and leave the conditioner on your hair for at least 5 to 7 minutes, do not apply it to the roots or the scalp. Conditioner should only be applied to the hair shaft.
1) Henna – This is a natural and traditional home remedy followed since centuries for a healthy and shiny hair. Mix henna, egg and lemon and keep it overnight. Apply the this paste and leave it for two hours. Application of Henna once in a month has a very cooling effect on your head and also nourishes your hair, it gives a tinge of burgundy colour to your hair and adds shine and volume.
2) Egg – Beat an egg and apply it on your scalp (pre- washed hair) leave it for half an hour and wash it with warm water. Do not use hot water, as the egg will crumble and stick to your hair. Egg makes the hair soft and silky and is a good source of Protein, it helps in curbing hair fall.
3) Curd – Application of Curd cures dandruff problem and makes the hair silky smooth. Always apply it on pre- washed hair and leave it on your head for atleast half an hour.
4) Lemon – Squirt lemon juice on your scalp before shampooing, it not only cures dandruff but also gives an excellent shine to your hair.
