Get Your Basic Makeup Right

Makeup, when done right can make a huge difference to your appearance. But only if it is done properly, shabby makeup looks horrible and can mar your look. There are some basic thumb rules for makeup and when you follow these things, you can get your makeup right. Firstly, you need to invest in some good quality makeup products and brushes.

One of the common mistake people commit is that they use the makeup brushes that come with the product. These miniature brushes are not suitable for good makeup. For instance, you cannot apply blusher with a one flat two inch brush. You would need a big and round dome shaped brush for applying blusher.

So that it doesn’t get concentrated only on the cheekbone. So, spend some money and buy some basic makeup brushes like lipstick brush, blush on brush, eye shadow brush and eye brow brush. Apart from that you can also use a large brush for applying translucent powder.

Now that you have the products in place, lets get into the makeup part of it. The first rule to good makeup is to blend it well, patchy or cakey makeup looks horrible. It should be blended well into the skin so that it looks natural and cover the skin imperfections. Next, is to apply it properly.

Makeup, when applied with brushes will stay longer and the application will look professional. Use a light hand and go slow while applying. Rushing with makeup will not give you a chance to correct the mistakes. Always keep a ear but and makeup remover ready with you. This will help in correcting fine mistakes like feathering of lipstick or eyeliner. Apply your eyeshadow first and then follow up with mascara and eye liner.

There is one more trick for creating that perfect pout. Always use a lipstick applicator brush for getting full colour, you lipstick will stay longer when applied with a brush. To add shine and oomph to your lips, just add a dash of shimmer or high shine gloss to the centre of your lips.
