Fungal Infections
Among many kinds of skin related problems, fungal infection is one of them. Fungal infections can occur on various areas of body. Some of the common fungal infections that affect various skin areas are athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, and candidiasis. Athlete’s foot affects the toenails. Jock itch has the symptoms of burning and itching in public area. The skin area inside the thighs may also witness flaking.
Jock itch is a problem that is a faced by people who sweat excessively. Ringworm is a kind of skin infection caused as a result of fungus. This kind of skin infection spreads from the central point. The infected area becomes red and itchy as a result of ringworm infection. Candidiasis, also known as yeast infection, is a kind of fungal infection which causes brownish and red spots on the skin. This kind of infection affects the underarms, mouth and rectal area of the skin.
All the above discussed fungal infections are a result of poor hygiene and excessive sweating. Here are some of the tips that would help in treating the fungal infections to a great extent:
Soaps, shoes, socks and towels should not be shared with anyone.
Thong sleepers should be used in civic showers.
Make sure to take a shower at least twice in a day if you sweat excessively. Also one should make use of a nice carbolic soap for taking bath. Anti fungal powder and deodorant should be used liberally.
As much as possible cotton clothes should be worn, so that there is no itching on the skin. Also, the clothes should be of loose fit, so that the skin is allowed to breathe in a free manner.
One of the effective remedies for dealing with fungal infections is to eat yogurt. Garlic also contains anti fungal properties which is considered to be a very good way of treating fungal infections.
A mixture of lavender oil and tea tree oil in equal ratio should be dabbed on the affected areas of the skin in a very gentle manner with the help of cotton swab. This treatment is considered to be a very good way of treating athlete’s foot and yeast infection.
