Freckles

Freckles are dark spots around the nose and cheeks, they can be hereditary in nature. Freckles are absolutely harmless and do not cause any skin problems but are very unsightly. They look prominent when exposed to sun. Though freckles are present on the entire body but are more visible on the face because of sun exposure. They may vary in size, usually each spot is around 2mm to 4 mm in diameter. Freckles can be treated medicinally or with home remedies.

We share some home remedies to get rid of those dark spots:

1) Apple cider vinegar is the best remedy not only for your freckles but also for your body. Apply this vinegar on the skin at least 2 to 3 times in a day and also intake it with a little water. It has alkaline properties which will keep your skin beautiful.

2) Squirt the juice of a lemon and apply it on the spots, you will be surprised to see the freckles fading away. You can also add sugar crystals to lemon juice and make a scrub, this will lighten the freckles faster.

3) Apply home made face masks, prepare a mask with fresh fruits and oatmeal. You can use fruits like apricots, strawberries and papaya in combination with oatmeal and make a thick paste. Another mask can be made with cucumber and sour cream, beat them well with a hand blender and apply on the face. Wash it off and follow up with a moisturiser.

4) Another effective remedy is to wash your face with buttermilk. You can also apply a paste made of curd, gram flour, lemon juice and turmeric and apply on your face to get rid of freckles, it will also make your skin supple.

5) Take a slice of red onion and rub it on the spots, your freckles will lighten in few days. It is important to always keep the skin moisturised to prevent freckles, dryness is one of the causes of freckles.
