Evolution of Tiara
The Tiara, is one of the most desired possession for every woman, it makes her feel like a princess. Over the centuries the tiara has continued to be a perfect regal hair accessory for the most special occasions with wedding being one of them. Historians trace the tiara to ancient Egypt where the tiaras were used to decorate mummies. In Greece, tiara was used to embellish the statues of Gods and Priests. The Roman’s used tiaras to signify rank and honour. It was, however, the rich 19th century that elevated the tiara to a coveted piece of jewellery.
The English jewellers created some of the finest, most delicate and ethereal tiaras of that century. The Russian’s weren’t far behind. This phase also marked the first time that tiaras became linked with weddings. In the first decade of the 20th century more tiaras were worn than at any other time. Tiaras also survived the World War and flourished thereafter. In the 1920′s, it was worn with bob cuts and gowns.
From then on the tiara has been a part of the palaces as well as humble homes. It has now made a come back with acceptance in parties and weddings. The modern bridal tiara has become a rage, it is no more an accessory for the rich class, it has become a fashion accessory for the commoner.
The tiaras have evolved ever since and now it has become important to choose the right tiara for the right occasion keeping in mind other factors like the hairstyle, outfit and facial structure. We share some ideas to help you choose a tiara according to your face type. If you have a round face, try to make your face appear longer by wearing a tiara with some height or one that has a peak.
For long face, go for tiaras with little or no height. If you have an oval face then avoid pieces with a peak at the top, it will make your face look more oval. For woman with a fuller face, Wear a tiara that peaks into a V shape.
