The makeup for this occasion should be light, even if you are going in for a bright colored sari or lehenga. The golden rule of good makeup is to start with a clean face. Apply concealer to hide any scars or marks, it can also be used to cover dark circles under the eyes. Now apply a panstick base in a colour which is an exact match of the skin tone and set the makeup with a loose powder in the same shade. Apply the loose powder with a big round brush. Fix the base with a piece of semi-wet sponge by gently pressing the powder in place. To add glow to your face apply a transparent shimmer powder, apply this powder with a puff.
For the eyes apply eye-shadow that matches the colour of your outfit and then highlight them with a creamy highlighter. A touch of golden or silver sparkling dust will help you dazzle. Now apply a coat of eyeliner in black or other colours to highlight your eyes and give them a glam look. Lashes can be curled using an eye lash curler. Apply mascara to make your lashes look fuller and thicker. If you have naturally thick lashes then you can opt for transparent mascara. Fill your eyes with kajal to add depth to your eyes.
Next is to apply blush in the shade of pink or peach, this will give a soft tinge to your cheeks. Outline lips with a lip liner and then fill the lips with a lipstick which is of the same shade as the lip liner. Use a liquid or glitter lipstick in the same shade to add shine and create a wet look. Keep the lipstick shade light since you have used eyeshadow, if you want to highlight your lips then go nude on eyes. Don’t work up both the features, highlight just one feature and keep the rest of your face pale.
