Dryness Problem

July 25, 2009

Dry hair can be a pain in the neck, it is difficult to manage and often unruly. Dry hair behaves badly at the wrong times and leads to what is commonly known as “Bad Hair Day“.

Some people have dry and frizzy hair that is genetic in nature, while others develop dry hair due to various reasons. Some of the common causes of dryness is dirt and grime, exposure to sun rays, poor hair hygienic, rough handling of hair etc. Though these causes might seem to be trivial but they can affect the health of your hair very badly. However, we share some tips to get rid of dry tresses.

These simple remedies will save you from hair dry and damaged hair and also reduce hair breakage or hair fall.

1) Combing and brushing – Never comb or brush your hair rigorously, it can damage the cuticles. Be gentle while combing your hair, use soft and gentle strokes. Rough combing often causes split ends and leads to breakage and subsequent hair fall.

2) Sun protection - Save your mane from the harmful rays of sun by covering your head or by wearing a hair sun screen. It can make a huge difference to your hair. If you want to go natural then apply some Aloe vera gel on your hair before stepping out. This will take care of the sun damage and also protect your hair from dirt and grime. Aloe vera will act as a shield and prevent dryness.

3)Hair Pack - Prepare a hair pack with some deep hair conditioning products, mix curd with amla juice and fullers earth. Apply this pack on your hair and leave it for 30 minutes. Do not leave your hair open, cover it with a shower cap and then rinse off with plain water. This will help in improving the texture and quality of your hair, practice it every month. Another excellent conditioner is egg, simply beat and egg and add some oil to it for extra conditioning. Leave it for half an hour and wash with tap water. Do not use hot water for rinsing off egg from your hair, you can imagine what will happen.
