Dry Skin

Dry skin though is not prone to pimples or acne but some products may cause an allergy and ultimately pimples. Care should be taken to moisturise dry skin since it can crack easily and give way to bacterial and fungal infections.

Dry skin can also lead to eczema which causes rashes and itching. Acne though uncommon in dry skin can occur due to hormonal or hereditary tendency. Cleanliness and moisturizing are the key to healthy skin. Wash your face twice daily with medicated soap, then wipe it with an astringent lotion using cotton wool. Boil neem leaves in water on low flame.

Cool and strain, now make a paste of neem leaves and apply daily on the face. Another cure for acne on dry skin is to mix cinnamon (dalchini) powder with a little lemon juice and a few drops of honey. Apply this paste on the pimples daily and leave it at least for an hour. Honey helps in relieving dryness while the lemon juice works on the pimples. Mix multani mitti (fuller earth) with rose water and lemon juice and apply on your face twice a week. wash it off when it dries.

Apart from the external applications take care of your diet. Include fresh fruits, raw salads, sprouts and yoghurt in your daily diet. Drink 6 to 8 glasses off water, also have warm water with lemon juice every morning before having breakfast. Lack of Vitamins can also make the skin appear dull and lifeless.

There are 4 types of Vitamins that affect your skin, Vitamin A, B, C and E. Vitamins are not formed or produced in the body as a result you need to supply it through natural sources like fruits and vegetables and wear it in the form of skin care products. Vitamin supplements are also common these days but natural sources are always better than supplements.
