Dramatic Eyes
Eyes are the most expressive features of our face and can be lit up with the right makeup. Eye makeup was made popular amongst the masses when smoky eyes were a rage all over. Smoky and dramatic eyes are perfect to play up your subtle looks.
The key to eye makeup is to keep the rest of the face pale, this will highlight the eyes. Dramatic eyes are a perfect evening wear, deep shades like purple, burgundy, blue and grey are generally used to get this look.
To begin with, cover the entire upper eyelid with concealer or foundation as a base. Now highlight the brow bone with light shimmer like silver or gold. Colour the eyelid completely with a very deep shade like purple. Use the lightest version of the same colour on the top half of the upper eyelid. Apply a darker shade of the same colour on the lower part of the upper eyelid.
This colour must be darker than the top half but lighter than the base colour. Using the same colour, apply from the middle to the outer corner going up all the way to the tip of the eyebrow to get a fish tail effect. Add some silver or gold to the innermost corners to add drama. Outline the eyes on top with an eyeliner and add loads of mascara to upper and lower lashes.
Outline the lower lid, dipping the liner a little at the innermost corner and then going all the way to the outer edge of the eye. To get your makeup right, you need good quality products and makeup brushes. If your foundation or concealer is of poor quality it will blotch and spoil the entire eyeshadow. Professional makeup brush is a must else the makeup will look shabby. Clean your makeup brushes with cleansing milk after every use.
