Do’s and Don’ts of Smokey Eyes Makeup
Smokey eyes are a rage all over and look absolutely hot and sexy. But if you don’t get the smokey eyes makeup right, you can end up looking like someone who has dreaded dark circles. Any makeup is an art and you cannot acquire this skill overnight. However, there are some do’s and don’ts that can be learned properly to avoid common makeup mistakes.
Once you know the thumb rules, you can avoid makeup blunders. Bad makeup not only looks tacky, it can make you appear a lot older. You can imagine how would dark circles look on a young face and that too self created dark circles. So don’t do this mistake, learn the basics of eye makeup.
Firstly, you would need few makeup products like, a pot of eye shadow, preferably in a palette of two or three colours. Ask for a smokey eye shadow. You would also need an eyeshadow applicator, mascara, kohl or kajal pencil, concealer and foundation. Now, you need to understand the thumb rules.
Do not use eyeshadow directly on your eyes, you need to create a base with concealer and foundation. This is a common mistake people commit, concealing is like creating a perfect canvas for makeup. Use a concealer that is a shade lighter than your original skin-tone. Now, apply foundation that matches perfectly with the colour of your skin. Blend it well, this is the most important part of eye makeup, else it will look cakey and may develop crease.
Always use powdered eye shadow in three shades. The lighter one is to be used on the brow bone, the darker one around the crease of your eyes and finally the medium coloured one on the base of the eyelid. In case of smokey eyes, you can use silver around the brow bone, brown or black shadow around the crease and the grey one around the base. Ensure that you use black coloured shadow very carefully, use very little.
Never use a high definition eye pencil or an eye liner. It is best to use kajal or kohl pencil, since it can be smudged easily. Apply kajal to fill the eyes and lightly smudge it with your finger. This will add that finishing touch to your smokey eyes makeup.
