Do You Have Pimple Prone Skin
Pimples are a problem with many teenagers and sometimes they even bother grown up women. Pimple prone skin is difficult to deal with and is usually very sensitive to various skin care products.
People with this problem of skin usually complain of oiliness and greasiness and have too many blackheads or whiteheads. Pimple prone skin should be kept clean at all times. Clogging of dirt and other pollutants can play havoc with the skin, it can aggravate pimples and acne.
The reason why this kind of skin needs more cleansing is because the pores are usually open and the secretion of natural skin oils is high. This oil secretion attracts dirt and grime, when the pollutants stick to the skin for longer, they lead to skin infections. Bacterial infection is a common problem with pimple prone skin.
Keep the skin oil free by washing it frequently with a pH balanced face wash. Applying calamine lotion can be helpful if the condition is not severe. Small boils and pimples can be treated with daily application of calamine lotion. However, severe acne may require some medical attention.
When your pimples are bigger in size and do not have a white head they are known as acne. Further more, if they are dark red in colour and painful and look like a big patch without a pointed white head then this could be cystic acne. The acne does not have a tip and takes time to heal. In fact, some of them are so stubborn that they wont settle with application of medicated creams, you might require oral anti-biotic medicines to treat them.
Some others are so bad that they need to be punctured with an injection. The sebum and the infected pus needs to be sucked out of the acne with an injection, this procedure does not require any anesthesia and is the last resort to treat difficult acne. There are some general precautions that should be taken to prevent pimples, firstly, avoid touching or pricking the pimples with your fingers.
Next is to keep the face clean, wash it every 3 to 4 hours and seek medical attention if the pimples start spreading. One or two boils are fine but when your cheeks or forehead is covered with pimples, it is a matter of concern.
