Do It Yourself Makeover

How often have you thought of a complete makeover and then quietly settled for the same look, thinking about the big hole it can burn in your pocket. We share some makeup tricks and the do’s and don’ts to get your makeover at home all by yourself. The first step to good makeup is a perfect pair of eyebrows, shabby brows are a complete turn off and can ruin your look. Your eyebrows should be neat and in proper shape, as much as possible keep the shape natural, closes to your natural brow line.

It looks sexy and doesn’t appear artificial. Next is to create luscious lips, a drool worthy pout is the most important part of lipstick application. To get the look right, apply some concealer at the corners of your lips, especially the lower corner. The skin colour is a bit darker at the corners and the concealer will bring even tone.

Always apply the lipstick with a lip brush, this way the lipstick will stay longer and the colour will appear prominent and your lips fuller. Re-apply the lipstick for long stay but do not blot since lip brush allows for perfect application of lipstick.

If you have always been using a lip liner then it is time to skip the liner. However, if you wish to use a liner then apply it after lipstick application, use a light hand while applying. Do not put pressure, else the shade will turn out to be darker than the lipstick. Your lip liner should match perfectly with the lipstick shade, it should neither be lighter nor darker than the lipstick.

Finish your makeover with dramatic eye makeup, if you want bigger eyes then use mascara, eyeliner and eye shadow. Conceal the entire eyes with a thin layer of concealer to cover any dark circles or fine lines.

Next, apply a little foundation and your eyes are ready for the application of shadow. Use an eyeshadow in 3 shades from the same colour family, apply the lightest around the brow bone and the darker one in the centre, while the medium shade at the eyelid border close to the lashes.

Blend the shades perfectly, blending plays an important role and should be done carefully. Finish the look with eyeliner and mascara, don’t forget to fill your eyes with kajal or kohl pencil.
