Defy Time

No one can reverse the clock, age brings with it a beautiful experience of life and some not so beautiful things like wrinkles. Ageing is like a nightmare for woman, though it can’t be reversed but it can certainly be controlled. Skin ageing is inevitable and is caused by intrinsic as well as extrinsic factors. As we age our skin loses its suppleness, it becomes dry and there are changes in the collagen and elastic. Oil producing glands begin to slow down as you grow older, making your skin drier. As the cell regeneration slows down and more cells accumulate on the surface, the skin develops age spots and pigmentation.

The skin looks leathery and rough, moreover, when we are young the collagen and elastin fibres are strong and flexible. With age this strength and flexibility decreases. Fine lines and wrinkles appear due to years of muscle action such as smiling, frowning etc. The subcutaneous fat which is below the skin steadily decreases and causes hollows and depressions.

You can defy time with some simple tips:

1) Eat healthy - A diet rich is whole grains, fish, Omega 3 fatty acids helps is regaining younger looking skin, Consuming green tea can drastically improve the skin since it is rich in antioxidant.

2) Indulge in some physical activity like exercise or sports. This increases blood circulation and helps in flushing out toxins, it also keep the muscles firm and the skin glowing.

3) Wear your sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15, sunscreen prevents photo-ageing. If the sun is too harsh then use hats, umbrellas and your shades. Keep your body and skin hydrated, drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water for a glowing skin.

4) Cleanse and exfoliate - Always ensure that your skin is clear of dead skin cells, dirt and make -up.

5) Tone and moisturize - Religiously replenish moisture lost during the day by feeding active ingredients. Follow a day and night skin care regime.
