Day And Evening Makeup Rules

The rules of makeup during the day aren’t the same as that during the evening. Makeup that looks bright during the day may look dull during the night. The thumb rule of day make-up is that it has to look soft, natural and effortless, even if you have spent your entire morning to get the makeup right it should look natural. In daylight all shades and shapes are clear for others to see, so opt for colours and makeup technique or tips that is subtle.

The focus should be on highlighting all your features. The first step is to cleanse your face , so use deep pore cleanser followed by toner and light moisturiser. Apply a thin layer of concealer under the eyes and try to blend it to even the effect.

Skip the foundation during the day, instead use a tinted moisturiser. Dab some moisturiser on the entire face and neck. Apply a thin coat of compact powder on top. Hold the outer corner of your eye with your fingertip and start applying the eye shadow.

Start from the middle of the eyelid moving towards outer corner of eye and then towards the inner corner of the eye. Finish the look with an eye liner, use a thick liner if you have small eyes and vice versa.

Night makeup should look glamorous, so use dark and bold colours. Play around by creating dramatic look, either create dramatic eyes or highlight your lips. Do not work on all the features, highlight only one feature.

Night makeup allows liberal use of bling, so dab on loads of shimmer and gloss. The first step for night makeup remains the same, but now you need a foundation instead of tinted moisturiser. Choose a foundation of the exact shade of your skin, blend it well and apply it evenly on the face.
