Cure Baldness

Baldness can be blamed on the male hormone androgen which causes destruction of the hair follicles in those who are genetically predisposed to baldness. This is called Male Pattern Thinning or Androgenetic Alopecia. Unfortunately one cannot change their genes and anti – hormones have their own side effects. Therefore the only way is to control MPT.

Here are some of the ways to treat Male Pattern Baldness.

1) Internal Treatment – There are 2 types of DHT – Dihydrotestosteron blockers, which dramatically slow down the process of MPT. This DHT is available naturally, Saw Palmetto berry which grows in Australia and North America is the solution to MPT. Trichologists have seen remarkable results with the use of green tea and saw palmetto for baldness.

2) Photobiotherapy - This is an external treatment option and uses a low level of cold laser beam. It works on the principle of activating the hair follicles resulting in fuller and stronger hair. The treatment would require around 10 to 12 sessions.

3) Hair camouflage - New developments in single follicular graft technology gives a completely natural look. This method uses the hair on the back of the hair that is genetically programmed not to fall. This hair is transplanted to the front of the head, using approximately 2000 to 2500 follicles at one time. The follicles are placed 1.5 to 2 mm apart in an interdigitating break pattern; with the direction determined by the patients hair style.

This procedure is performed under anaesthesia and the patient is later given anti-biotics and anti-inflammatory medicine for 4 to 5 days after the surgery. Within 3 to 4 months, hair growth is manifested in the follicles. Surgical camouflage can provide coverage but its limitations are that it cannot give thickness as a person’s own hair is used.
