Cope With Summer Hair Problems
Summer is the worst season of the year, the heat and humidity can play havoc with your hair and skin. Sun damage is the worst damage that can happen to your hair. Heat is known to dry out the tresses and when your hair is chemically treated the damage is even more. Your strands might look like dry straw, if not cared for during these months. So how exactly do you care for your hair? Well you have to incorporate some changes in your hair care routine.
Firstly, let us start with the basic step of sun protection. A hair sunscreen is a must have during summers. Sunscreen with SPF 8 to 10 is good enough for protecting hair from the harmful UV rays. Next, is to keep the hair deeply conditioned, so always use a leave in conditioner after shampooing your hair.
This hair product is very essential. Another way to prevent dryness is by applying curd on your scalp and hair. This natural conditioner can do wonders to your hair. It not only moisturizes hair, but also checks dandruff and hair fall. Once in a week, you must indulge in curd therapy.
If you have an active lifestyle, meaning you indulge in gym, swimming and so on, then hair care needs would change. For instance, if you go to gym, you should wash your hair everyday, since sweat is the main culprit for all hair and scalp problems. Use a mild pH balanced shampoo that won’t snatch away the natural hair oils.
And do not skip the conditioner, every time you wash your hair, it should be followed by conditioning. Similarly, if you go for swimming, chances are, the damage will be more during summer. The best way to save your hair from chlorine water is to oil them. Before entering the pool, either oil your hair completely or wet them.
So when you enter the pool, your hair wont soak the chlorinated water. And ofcourse, you should wear your swimming cap to further reduce the damage.
