Common Monsoon Hair Problems
Hair problems are very common during monsoon, especially when the hair gets wet due to rain water. The dampness is one of the major cause of hair problems like fungal infection, bacterial infection, dandruff, hair fall and so on.
Monsoon is a time when you have to keep your hair dry and prevent it from getting wet and damp. Though it is not good to use a hair dryer, but if the season calls for the use of heated instruments then an occasional blast of hair dryer doesn’t harm.
In fact, it will save your hair from further damage. Just ensure that you use a diffuser attachment while using the blow dryer and use some heat protecting serum or spray. Do not forget to blast some cool air from your hair dryer before you finish the drying process.
Some other hair care tips that can be handy during this rainy season are given below:
Wash frequently - It is good to wash your hair frequently during monsoons. This will keep all sorts of infections at bay, keep your scalp squeaky clean during this season. Clean hair equals healthy mane, try to wash your hair with a mild pH balanced shampoo. A mild shampoo will not snap away the moisture from your hair, it will retain the natural hair oils.
Intensive conditioning - Frizz is one of the most common problem during monsoon. Deep conditioning treatment once in a fortnight is a must. If you want to keep it manageable then apply some leave-in conditioner. You can also use hair serum if you want something light.
Hair products - Stay away from hair products during this season, the product will either get washed away or get stuck in your hair and make your damp hair even more limp and lifeless. If you are keen about using a hair product then go for hair mousse, stay away from gels and sprays as they can create a build up and lead to hair fall.
