Hair problems have always been surrounded by myths, we intend to decode the secrets surrounding hair and its problems. The most fascinating thing about hair fall is that people seldom realize that they have been following the wrong things.

This leads to aggravation of existing hair problems, but not any more. In this article we shall talk about hair common hair myths and bust some of the age old beliefs.

Myth - Hair should always be oiled.
Truth - This is the biggest myth, though hair should be oiled regularly it is not necessary to keep them oiled. In fact, oil in combination with dirt and sweat can play havoc with your hair. It can cause hair problems like hair fall, dandruff and scalp infections. In order to keep your hair in good condition you need to keep it clean. Oiling nourishes the hair but too much oil can attract dirt and will do no good to the hair. Oil your hair twice in a week and wash it off after every session of oiling.

Myth - Split ends can be cured
Truth  - There is no cure for split ends, you have to cut them off. No amount of conditioning or hair therapy can cure this condition. There are ways to prevent it but there is no solution apart from trimming. Splitting is caused due to harsh handling of hair and lack of conditioning and split ends can grow like fire. So it is better to prevent it.

Myth - Brush your hair 100 times
Truth –
Excessive brushing will cause more harm than good. Rigorous brushing often leads to breakage and is of no good for your hair. It over activates the scalp and causes excess production of natural hair oils (sebum) that can make your hair limp. Moreover, too much brushing can open up the cuticles and cause breakage.

Myth – Washing hair too often can causes hair loss
Truth -
Washing is important for maintaining the cleanliness of your hair. It is okay to wash your hair everyday provided you use a pH balanced shampoo and conditioner.
