There are numerous hair myths which people believe to be true. But none of them are! We bring you few of such myths and show you the reality behind them!
If you shave your hair, it will grow back stronger:
This is one of the most common myths. There are certain communities that shave heads of babies thinking that stronger hair will eventually grow. But the reality is not so. Hair is dead. Cutting it or shaving it off will not help stronger growth in any way. The stubble is strong as it is short. Scientific studies have proved that hair growth remains the same after repeated shaving.
Brushing your hair does wonder:
In the past, people thought a hundred strokes a day will keep the hair naturally conditioned, by distributing natural oil all over the head. But now a day, shampoos and conditioner goes a long way to keep the hair clean and healthy too. Excessive brushing will only damage the cuticle of the hair leaving it damaged with split ends.
Your hair can turn gray overnight:
The hair color is a genetic attribute and cannot turn gray or white overnight. It takes a long period of time to happen. However, in case of certain hair disease, in which the pigment growing hair follicles are attacked, hair can turn gray.
Hair grows even after death:
Hair grows for a day or two after death as long as the skin stays humid. The skin of a dead person pulls itself back from the hair fiber. In this process, the hair follicles which were already inside the skin expose making it apparent that hair is still growing.
