Comfort During Cold
Winter provides the much needed relief from the sweltering heat. But it also brings with it a bout of skin miseries like; chapped lips, cracked heels, dry skin etc. Get your skin care regime in place for these nippy months.
Hair - The scalp can usually get itchy and flaky during winter and all you need is to oil it regularly and use a mild pH balanced shampoo. If the large flakes persist then it is important to consult a dermatologist to evaluate the skin condition, there can be skin disorders like psoriasis or eczema during such chills.
Face - If you feel a tight pulling sensation while you wash your face then don’t just slather on moisturiser all the time. Include a day and night moisturising schedule and wash your face only twice during winters. Men should avoid using their regular shaving foams, instead opt for a lotion or conditioner. Also avoid strong anti-acne medications, these will dry out the skin completely.
Lips – Chapped lips are a common problem during this season, dump your lipstick for some fresh fruit flavoured lip balm. Lip butters are also very soothing and come in light fruity hues. Avoid licking your lips since saliva can worsen the chapping.
Hands and Feet – Avoid washing your hands excessively, but if you can’t avoid this then apply a hand cream immediately to seal in the moisture. Moisturise the nail folds as well to avoid the tiny skin projections around the nails. Feet should never be ignored during this season. Soak your feet in warm water every night and then apply a generous quantity of moisturiser, put on a pair of cotton socks and voila you have smooth feet. Also avoid walking bare feet, use a room slipper at home and preferably use closed footwear outside.
