Chapped Lips

Lips are a very important feature of the beauty of a woman. Well moisturized and beautiful lips really help a great deal in defining the facial beauty of a woman. However, if the lips are dry, chapped and cracked, the facial beauty of a woman may be spoiled. A very irritating feeling may be attained due to chapped lips. Lip chapping occurs due to lack of moisture in the lips.The level of humidity is very low in winters. This results in dry and cold weather, thus resulting in lack of moisture in the air. This causes the skin to become dry and chapped, hence resulting in lip chapping. Lip chapping may also occur due to sunburns. The sun produces the ultra violet rays, which are very harmful for the skin, thus causing dry and chapped skin of the lips. Lip chapping may also occur due to any kind of allergic reaction. An individual may face allergy due to use of lipstick and lip glosses. The dyes that are present in the lipsticks may cause irritation on the lips, thus resulting in lip chapping.

In order to deal with the problem of lip chapping, it is very important for an individual to seal in the moisture, so that the lips get the required level of moisturizing and nourishment.

Salt water cool compressors should be used on the lips daily to provide relief to the chapped lips. One teaspoon of salt is added to one pint of water. A washcloth is soaked in the prepared solution and laid over the lips. After letting it stay moist and cool on the lips for some time, pat the lips dry. Practicing this technique daily for around a week would definitely help in providing relief to the chapped lips.

Application of lip balm, enriched with sunscreen, would also help a great deal in moisturizing the lips and preventing them from getting chapped. The lips would be prevented to a great extent from the sunburns with the application of lip balm, enriched with sunscreen.

While choosing the lipsticks, make sure to choose the one which are hypoallergenic in nature.
