Body Care

When we talk about skin care, the only thing that comes to our mind is our face. We often take care of our facial skin but ignore our body. Skin care means taking care of your entire skin, not just the facial skin. Another reason why body care is not practiced is because it can get messy and is usually time consuming. Indulging in some real treats for your body would mean spending at least one to two hours but with the fast paced lifestyle, we hardly have any time for personal grooming.

The concept of skin care has been narrowed down to just facial skin care with some people not being able to do even a bit for their facial skin, let alone body care. Though body care is a little time consuming but you will be amazed to see the results. The first and the most simple step in body care is to use a mild pH balanced soap or body wash.

Handcrafted soaps are even better than body wash, for they have very natural ingredients and are free of any chemicals or soap base. These soap bases are very drying and can damage the skin hence handcrafted soap’s are very mild and save the skin from torture.

Some of these handcrafted formulations also enhance and improve the complexion since they are available in different variants. So dump your body wash and your cosmetic soap and go for a natural handmade soap. Next step is a little difficult because it is a bit time consuming, prepare a mixture of gram flour (besan), milk cream and turmeric powder and make a thick paste.

Apply this paste all over the body and rub gently while applying. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash with plain water. Do this atleast once in a week for a beautiful and glowing skin. Another tip is to apply cold milk with a pinch of turmeric, remember Cleopatra’s milk baths.

Well, with milk being so expensive one cannot afford to indulge in a bath tub of milk but what you can do is, take a cotton wool and apply milk all over the body. Allow it to dry and then wash with plain water, milk is known to have some acids which are beneficial for the skin.
