Blow Your Hair

Styling hair has become an everyday nuisance and maintaining the perfect hair cut requires your valuable time and attention. There are several styling products available off the shelf but excess use or such products can damage the hair since the contents of the products are directly in contact with the hair shaft and remain there until you wash your hair.

If you sleep with the product on, it will further damage your hair and cause problems like split ends, dry/brittle hair and dandruff. This will ultimately lead to hair fall. A better option to hair styling products is blow drying, though even blow drying will damage your hair but if done in moderation it is comparatively less harmful than styling products.

There are some do’s and don’ts of blow drying. Firstly your blow dryer should be of 1800 watts or above only then will it actually set your hair, anything less than this will make your hair frizzy. Secondly, never blow dry wet hair, towel dry your hair then use the dryer. Keep the hair dryer atleast 6 inches away from your hair. Also do not keep the temperature at the highest degree, it will eventually dry out your hair.

Though blow drying is comparatively better but too much of it will cause breakage and brittleness. So stick to a routine and don’t go overboard. It helps to first detangle your hair after wash and then use the dryer.

Additionally invest in a good quality (round) brush since you will need it while setting your hair, a poor quality hair brush will pull your hair and chances are you might loose twice the hair. It is good to apply hair serum on towel dried hair since it will protect your hair and form a coat, do not forget to comb your hair for an even application of the serum.
